Kevin's Wedding Journey

1997: Years ago I was working as the Banquet Set-up Manager at the Lake Natoma Inn in Folsom California, when I decided to join the Banquet Servers team so I could get some server experience. It was then that I  was asked to clean tables at a wedding, and as I walked in I was delighted to see that everyone was Super Happy, and having lots of fun, and that was the day that I started to experience my Great Love for Weddings.

* A Timeline Through The Years *

2007: This was the year that I married the love of my life, Sabra Hill. And to  celebrate our union we went on an 8 day cruise to Mexico. One night at the dinner table, one of the couples Shawn & Claire, announced they had gotten engaged. Then two months after the cruise, Shawn & Claire asked my wife and I to go to Lake Tahoe, stay in a 4.5 Star hotel, and officiate their wedding.  And so we went, and that was the first time I ever ran a wedding ceremony.

2012: After officiating about 80+ wedding ceremonies over the course of 5 years (2007-2012), I eventually decided to purchase my own DJ equipment and offer both DJ and officiant services.

I also took most of those couples through relationship counseling so that I could teach them principles on how to (1) pour into each other in their marriage, and (2) how to avoid countless hours of fighting. A few years later we added Photo Booth Services, then photography, and before I knew it, I was doing weddings full time.

2019: This was the year that I met a Billionaire Investor by the name of Jason. My wife and I were camping in the mountains when we met Jason. He then invited me to a campground that he was purchasing, and wanted my input on how to build a wedding venue at his new property. One thing led to another, and before I knew it, I was running his new venue called Cisco Grove.

Our first official year open as a venue was 2020, and then Covid hit. We ended up doing 4 weddings that year, and in year #2 (2021) we bumped it up to 17 weddings, which was the year a new company bought the entire property, and politely asked me to cancel all my weddings, and shut the venue down (Ouch that Really Hurt).

2021: About 10 days after my Dream Wedding Venue was Shut Down, my wife came to me and showed me a listing for a property half way across the country, in a small town called Shepherd (just north of Houston Texas). It was a 12 acre property that we could buy for about the same price we could sell our California home for, except we would get extra things with it. This new property came with a Stocked Fishing lake, a huge workshop, a barn with animals, and a  Complete Wedding Venue! We took the leap of faith and in late September of 2021 we moved into our new home in Houston Texas. The last 14 months has been quite a Journey of Faith, but God has been in it every stretch of the way.
